Chapter 1:
(Day 2)
The girl stared out the window. The train persevered through the rough weather. Her head rested on her right hand, she closed her eyes and sighed.
"What, are you NOW regretting what you just did, Silver?" a boy sat down in the seat next to her.
"It's not Silver, it's Silk. Get it right," said Silk.
"Geez, sorry. It's just that you two looked so much alike," said the young man, “But I thought Silk was ‘dead’?”
"Tarance, you giving Silver here a hard time again?" an older man walked up to the two.
"Hey Chorde," said Tarance, "We were... uh... just talking about how great our loot was last night."
The older man laughed. "Yeahup, you two were great yesterday."
"Thanks," said Silk and then formed a small smile on her lips.
"By the way, Silver, did you cut your hair?" asked Chorde.
Silk ran her hands through her hair. "Yeah, I was in the mood for a change."
"Well, alright. Just don't forget about our next job. I'm gonna try to get in some Z's. Talk to you later."
"Later," said Tarance. "Bye," said Silk. And then the older man walked off.
Tarance then returned his attention to Silk, "Wow, that's pretty smooth acting."
"Yeah, yeah," Silk said. She returned to looking out the window.
Slowly, she closed her eyes again. Opened them, and closed them again. Soon, she was fast asleep.
Tarance got up. Although still suspicious of her, he let her alone. He thought he noticed something, but soon dismissed the thought.
“Naw, she wasn’t just smiling,” he thought to himself.
